Mui Wo (Lantau Island)

Mui Wo is the starting point of Translantau by UTMB and offers a tranquil setting with stunning natural beauty. Many runners choose to stay here for the convenience of being close to the event's start and finish line.

There are different options for accommodation in Mui Wo:

• Seaview Holiday Resort: Very close to the beach and 5 minutes from the start: www.seaviewholidayresort.hk

• Mui Wo Inn hotel: on the beach with few rooms with one single bed or one double room (no website, no internet). Contact (852)-2984-7225. Prices from 650HKD to 1200HKD

• There are few holiday apartments but the comfort is very basic (no website). Price vary from 300 HKD to 1200HKD because some apartments have several rooms. Contact: Sam (852) 63319509 (Chinese speaker only)

• Nam Shan campsite at 2.5km from Mui Wo in the country park, accessible by bus.

Mui Wo, located on Lantau Island, offers a variety of accommodation options, but in case the hotels in Mui Wo are fully booked, we have alternative recommendations for you in Tung Chung, Sheung Wan, and Tsim Sha Tsui (TST).

1. Tung Chung (Lantau Island)

Tung Chung is another excellent option for accommodation. It's conveniently located near the Hong Kong International Airport and offers a variety of hotels and guesthouses. It's also well-connected to Mui Wo by Bus 3M (40-50 mins), making it easy for you to reach the race venue.

2. Sheung Wan/Central (Hong Kong Island)

Sheung Wan is a vibrant neighborhood on Hong Kong Island, known for its lively atmosphere and historic charm. If you prefer to stay on Hong Kong Island, you can find a range of accommodation options in Sheung Wan or Central, and it's just a short ferry ride away from Mui Wo (35-55 mins).

3. Tsim Sha Tsui (Kowloon)

Tsim Sha Tsui, located in Kowloon, is another popular choice for runners. It offers a bustling urban environment with numerous hotels, shopping, and dining options. While it's farther from Lantau Island, it's easily accessible by public transportation. You need to take the Star Ferry to Central Ferry Pier and then take the ferry from the pier to Mui Wo (1.5 hour).

Please keep in mind that it's a good idea to book your accommodation well in advance, especially if you prefer to stay in Mui Wo, as it's the closest to the event venue and can fill up quickly.
