From the coastline to the highest summits of Lantau island.

TransLantau140 by UTMB® covers 140km on the most scenic trails of the two country parks on Lantau Island, for a cumulative elevation gain of 7,000 meters. This is a challenging trail run which requires adequate training to complete the full route within 40 hours. The route includes steep climbs and downhills, the highest climb being the Lantau peak (934m).

This race is semi-self sufficiency (12 refreshment posts are located along the route). To enroll for the TransLantau140 by UTMB®, you must be a finisher of a 100km trail race OR a 50-km trail race in <12h within the last 3 years.

Mandatory Gear

Athletes must carry the mandatory gear at all times during the race. You should be prepared for random checks on the course, and if you are missing any item you will receive a time penalty and may not be allowed to continue the race.

NOTE: Hiking poles. If you decide to use poles, you must keep them throughout the whole race. It is not allowed to start without poles and recover them up along the way.

Support Crew

Support is allowed only at the tolerated checkpoints. No pacer allowed.

Most checkpoints have a public transport access:

🎯 T1: Chi Ma Wan. Assistance not tolerated.

🎯 T2: Pui O. Easy access by bus from Mui Wo to Pui O (10 min), buses #1, #2, #3M (every ~30min), then <5min walk.

🎯 T3: Wong Lung Han. Access difficult by bus/taxi to Tung Chung/Wong Lung Han and then hike.

🎯 T4 & T8: Ngong Ping. Easy access by bus from Mui Wo (Bus#2, not frequent), Tung Chung (Bus#23, every 30min in daytime), Tai O (Bus#21, not frequent), then 5min walk.

🎯 T5: Kau Ling Cheung. Assistance not tolerated.

🎯 T6: Tai O. Bus from Mui Wo (Bus#1) or Tung Chung (Bus#11).

🎯 T7: Sham Wat. Assistance not tolerated.

🎯 T9: Shui Hau. Easy access by bus (Bus #1, #23).

🎯 T10: Pak Kung Au. Regular buses from/to Tung Chung or Mui Wo.

🎯 T11: Pak Mong. Assistance not tolerated.

🎯 T12: Discovery Bay. Access difficult by bus from Tung Chung and then 30min hike.
